Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy (PRP) for hair rejuvenation is a process by which a patient’s own blood is drawn and then using a centrifuge, plasma from the blood is separated and extracted. This plasma, which is rich in growth factors, is then meticulously re-injected by a physician or a specially trained registered nurse into the scalp at locations specifically determined where one would want reintroduction of hair.

These growth factors help stimulate the activity of the hair follicles and help promote this new hair growth. Over time, hair follicles can start to produce thinner and thinner strands, and eventually stop producing all together. PRP therapy has been shown to be effective in increasing hair count, hair thickness and the growth phase of the hair cycle. This treatment can be helpful for people finding their hairline receding or thinning areas appearing.

We also offer PRP for injuries and inflammatory conditions here.

Although treatment plans vary between patients, PRP therapy typically requires several treatments within a 4-6 week period, followed by maintenance treatments every 3-6 months depending on your course of treatment.
